1. Framework and purpose
The operation and use of Porto Santo Marina takes place within a concession area, covering both water and land areas, granted under a contract signed on 29 May 2026 to MARINA PXO - ACTIVIDADES NÁUTICAS, S.A., hereinafter referred to as MPS.
The Regulations govern the relationships arising from navigation support and harbour shelter for recreational vessels, establishing rules for access, use, stay, safety, boatyard operations and the application of the tariff schedule.
Their application does not prejudice the powers of the Maritime Authority, Port Authority, GNR, Customs Authority and any other legally competent entities.
2. Scope and concession area
The Regulations apply to all users, vessel holders, crews, visitors, operators, service providers and other entities using or accessing the Porto Santo Marina concession area.
The concession area includes, among other spaces:
- Water surface and berthing spaces;
- Pontoons, walkways, ramps and mooring quays;
- Inner and outer mooring buoys;
- Fuel quay and service quay;
- Tidal grid, boatyard and supporting land areas.
3. Stay arrangements
Stays at the Marina may be authorised on an annual, monthly or daily basis.
- Annual stay: corresponds to the calendar year and is considered indivisible.
- Monthly stay: corresponds to a calendar month, with a minimum indivisible period.
- Daily stay: corresponds to a calendar day, starting at 12:00 noon.
Any stay, extension or use of a berthing space depends on prior authorisation from MPS and compliance with the applicable regulatory and tariff conditions.
4. Authorisations and powers of MPS
MPS is responsible for managing the use of the Marina, assigning berthing spaces, authorising the stay of vessels and vehicles, ordering changes of location, suspending services when necessary and ensuring compliance with the Regulations.
No vessel, vehicle, equipment or material may remain within the concession area without prior authorisation from MPS.
5. Annual berthing spaces
The allocation of annual berthing spaces depends on availability, vessel characteristics and the decision of MPS. Interested parties may be placed on a waiting list.
The request must be accompanied, whenever applicable, by the following documents:
- Proof of vessel ownership;
- Documents confirming the vessel’s characteristics and seaworthiness;
- Valid civil liability insurance;
- Valid inspection certificate;
- Maximum overall length and beam as stated in the registration documents.
On certain pontoons, the use by vessels under 8 metres may be restricted, with the minimum tariff corresponding to 8 metres being applicable.
6. Visiting vessels and temporary stays
Temporary use of berthing spaces depends on availability, submission of the request and confirmation by MPS. The Marina reserves berthing spaces for visiting vessels, with limited stays and subject to existing operational conditions.
Stay extensions must be communicated before the authorised period expires and may depend on an additional deposit, provision or payment.
7. User duties
Users must comply with the Marina’s safety, hygiene, operational and coexistence rules.
- Keep the vessel properly moored and protected with suitable fenders;
- Use the appropriate systems for wastewater and oily waste;
- Dispose of waste in the designated areas;
- Keep access to ramps, cranes, fuel quay and technical areas clear;
- Inform MPS when a berth will be vacant for more than 24 hours;
- Use water and electricity responsibly;
- Keep contact details, address and documentation up to date.
8. Prohibited conduct
Within the concession area, the following conduct is prohibited, among others:

9. Boatyard, Travel Lift and dry storage
Use of the boatyard, Travel Lift and dry storage areas depends on authorisation from MPS, operational availability and compliance with safety rules.
Haul-out, launching, movement, repair, maintenance and dry storage operations are subject to the Regulations, the Tariff Schedule and the instructions of the Marina team.
10. Tariffs, deposits and payments
The use of berthing spaces, services, equipment, boatyard, Travel Lift, dry storage and other infrastructure is subject to the applicable Tariff Schedule.
Failure to pay amounts due may result in suspension of services, refusal of stay, loss of rights or removal of the vessel under the terms of the Regulations.
11. Supervision, liability and sanctions
MPS may supervise compliance with the Regulations and adopt the necessary measures for the safety, conservation, operational management and protection of the Marina.
Failure to comply with the rules may result in loss of rights, vessel removal, suspension of services, application of charges or notification of the competent authorities.
